Cuomo Announces Shorter Quarantine Period

New Yorkers exposed to COVID may be able to spend a little less time locked down going forward.

In a press conference yesterday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that New York State had reduced the quarantine time for persons exposed to COVID-19 to 10 days from 14 days. After the 10th day, the governor also said that quarantined persons must monitor their health for COVID-like symptoms for four more days.

If a person experiences symptoms during that four-day window, they must immediately self-isolate and contact their local health department or their health care provider to report their condition. At that point, your doctor or health officials might recommend COVID testing.
