Governor Cuomo Removes COVID Restrictions - New York Safety Guidelines Are Now Optional
/Today, Governor Cuomo announced that, effective immediately, New York’s Safety Guidelines are now optional. This news follows the State hitting the 70-percent mark of adults receiving their first COVID-19 vaccine dose.
According to a statement by the Governor, this change means business, including dealers, no longer need to adhere to “social gathering limits, capacity restrictions, social distancing, cleaning and disinfection, and health screening rules.” In addition, dealers no longer need to collect contact tracing information from employees and visitors.
What does this mean for dealers?
Daily employee screenings can be eliminated.
Dealers can fill showroom floors with cars and customers.
Employees are not required to work 6 feet apart.
All of your dealership employees can work on-site, capacity limits have been removed.
Dealers may choose to lift restrictions or continue to adhere to the State's previous guidance for their employees and customers. Dealers are also authorized to require masks and six feet of social distancing for employees and customers within their establishments, regardless of vaccination status, if they choose.
