Memo from the GNYADA President

Dear Member:

As you may have already heard, Senate leaders in Washington have finally agreed to a major Stimulus package.  Here are the general parts of the $2 Trillion package:

  • $367 billion small business loan program

  • $500 billion for industries, Cities and States

  • Up to $1,200 check for every American, according to annual salary

  • 4 months of income for workers that lost their jobs.

We won’t have any details on these and other items included in the package until both the Senate and House and President sign it into law.  As soon as we get further information we will forward it to you.

GNYADA is also working with New York State to address the needs of our industry.  As you are aware GNYADA was successful in getting an exemption for dealers to operate their service, parts and body shop operations and earlier this week our industry received another exemption for dealers who sell vehicles to “essential” businesses by following proper guidelines.

For information on those guidelines you can click here

Yesterday we emailed you a notice about our efforts with the other Metro and State Dealers Associations in New York to receive an exemption for dealers to resume selling vehicles to the General Public, under guidelines designed to protect public health.  We are waiting for a response on this exemption from the Empire State Development Corporation, which has been put in charge of managing business exemptions to the Governor’s Executive Orders.  As soon as we receive notice on our proposal we will let you know.

Our staff and legal team are working to find solutions so that your businesses can continue to operate under these difficult times. We can be reached at 718.746.4900. You can also visit www.gnyada.com/COVID-19 for a list of dealer resources and answers to some of the most frequently asked questions by dealers.

Sincerely,
