COVID QUESTIONNAIRE IS A DAILY REQUIREMENT

Employees and Visitors Should NOT Enter Dealership Until a Questionnaire is Completed

Every dealership employee should begin their shift with the completion of a daily COVID screening questionnaire. When dealerships were given the okay to open their doors to the public, dealers had to affirm to the State that specific safety protocols would be followed, one of those was daily mandatory COVID screening questions.

Who must complete the daily questionnaire?

Every employee and visitors (not customers) for example, repair people or vendors.

When must the questionnaire be completed?

Prior to entering the dealership.

What if an employee answers “yes” to one of the screening questions?

Do not permit that employee/visitor to enter the dealership.

Send an employee home with instructions to contact their healthcare provider.

Provide your employee with information about healthcare and testing resources.

If someone tests positive, report that information to the state and local health department.

What are the required daily questions?

At a minimum use a questionnaire that determines whether the employee or visitor has:

  • knowingly been in close or proximate contact in the past 14 days with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or who has or had symptoms of COVID-19;

  • tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days; and/or

  • has experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

Can the dealer add an optional question about travel outside of New York?

Yes. GNYADA has added this sample question:

  • traveled within the past 14 days to one of the states designated as having significant community spread and you spent more than 24 hours in that state? If yes, do not enter the dealership until you speak with your supervisor or the Site Safety Monitor.

Can a dealer use a temperature check instead of the daily questionnaire?

No. The screening questionnaire is mandatory.

Should my dealership keep records relating to the questionnaires?

Yes. Retain the daily attestation for 30 days. That is the document completed by the person in the dealership who is designated to review daily questionnaires.
