/Click to Download Slides
While the Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLB) is now more than 20 years old, it continues to play a central role in how dealerships collect, process, and store customers’ non-public information (NPI). Dealerships must take appropriate measures to ensure that they are adequately safeguarding customers’ NPI.
To stay in GLB compliance, dealers must provide customers with different privacy notices for different reasons. Chris Koening, Esq., Arent Fox will explain the different notice requirements and when to use them. He will also talk about the safe harbor model notices available to dealers.
The following questions will be answered:
Who should get a privacy notice and when?
How to recognize public and non-public information?
Is a customer a consumer and why does it matter?
Does your dealership’s Notice require an opt-out?
Are OEMs affiliates, and why is that important?
What is the Safe harbor model notice?
What are the fines for non-compliance?
