#80 - MV-82DEAL: December 2019 Update

During October 2019, the DMV changed its “Application for Registration and Title” (MV-82) form to include some new questions. Specifically for dealer sales, the DMV created a new form entitled “Vehicle Registration/Title Application for Dealer Sales” (MV-82DEAL). This new form is now the default registration and title application in VERIFI and is also available at https://dmv.ny.gov/forms/mv82deal.pdf.

To accommodate requests from Dealer Management System (DMS) vendors for additional time to reprogram their systems to process the new MV-82 DEAL, DMV agreed to accept the old style MV-82 when accompanied by a completed second page of the new MV-82DEAL for 5-6 weeks (See DMV/VERIFI Tip of the Week, #75).

Many DMS vendors have transitioned to using the new MV-82DEAL. Dealers must use the MV-82DEAL.

All applications submitted without a completed MV-82DEAL (print date 10/19) on December 3, 2019 or later will be rejected unless the date of sale/transfer is prior to December 3, 2019.
