Gov. Hochul Ends Mask Mandates

The State of New York no longer requires anyone entering a dealership to mask-up, including employees.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the end of the indoor mask mandate yesterday. And last night, the NYS Department of Labor (DOL) revised its HERO Act guidelines for employers lifting a mask mandate for workplaces.

However, individual business may continue to require masking for employees and/or customers if they wish.

Dealers can find the new HERO Act guidance here.

Following the Governor Hochul’s announcement, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced private businesses can choose whether to require masks, although, NYC's vaccination requirement for employees remains mandatory for anyone in a New York City workplace.

GNYADA will keep dealers up-to-date on all COVID-related requirements and guidance as new information becomes available.
