NY HERO Act Extended, Again

Safety Plans Required through March 17, 2022

The New York Commissioner of Health once again extended the designation of COVID-19 as highly contagious, thereby requiring employers to keep their HERO Act Safety Plans activated through at least March 17, 2022.

This means that dealers must continue to implement their safety plans, including daily screening questionnaires for employees working at the dealership.

This extension follows the very recent updates to the Model HERO Act Safety Plan, noting that masks are now recommended in indoor settings, as opposed to being required.

Dealers must continue to post the HERO Act Safety Plan, train employees on the topic, distribute copies to employees, and continue to ensure compliance.

If you have questions about the current HERO Act requirements contact the Dealer Hotline at 718.746.5900.
