Biden Orders Vaccinations or Weekly Testing for Private Sector Workers
/On Thursday, President Joe Biden announced he will order the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to require employees of businesses with 100+ employees to either get vaccinated or present a negative COVID-19 test result each week. The Biden Administration estimates that the new rule will apply to over 80 million people in the private sector.
OSHA has not yet released any draft of this order, nor has the agency announced when it will publish the rule. Pres. Biden also announced that he will require employers provide paid sick leave to get a shot, but New York has already required this of employers in this state.
GNYADA will keep dealers posted as soon as OSHA issues the new order. Dealers should plan to include this new rule into their plan required by the NY HERO Act, which requires employers to draft and implement a plan for preventing airborne infectious diseases.
