Dealers Must Follow Safety Protocols IT'S THE LAW

It’s as important today, as it was earlier this year, to follow Department of Health (DOH) guidelines governing the operation of your dealership.

As positive cases continue to rise, dealers must do their part to stop the spread, protect employees, customers, and visitors by following the safety guidelines.

State, County, and local government agencies are inspecting businesses for compliance and addressing employee complaints about unsafe work environments. Make sure you are following the COVID safety rules.

Below is a summary of what dealers need to do to comply with New York State Law.

Dealers Must Continue To:

  • Review, implement and post your Safety Plan in a conspicuous area,

  • Post required signage throughout your dealership that promotes stopping the spread,

  • Require all employees, customers, and visitors to wear face masks while in the dealership,

  • Complete daily prescreening questionnaire for every employee and visitor before they enter your facility,

  • Deny access to any employee or visitor that provides a positive answer to any prescreening question.

  • Enforce 6 feet of separation throughout your facility, including the breakroom, BDC Department, and administrative offices,

  • Provide hand sanitizer throughout the dealership, and

  • Regularly clean and disinfect your facility and vehicles.
