On Sept. 6, 2021, Gov. Kathy Hochul directed the NYS Commissioner of Health to designate COVID-19 as a highly contagious communicable disease that presents a serious risk of harm to the public health.
Now that such a designation has been made, employers are required to implement or “activate” their Airborne Infectious Disease Exposure Prevention Plan.
Activation of the Plan has brought a great deal of confusion about what dealers are supposed to do next.
Jim McGrath, Esq. will review the Plan requirements; explain what dealers must do to comply, and discuss best practices to address the ongoing pandemic issues at your dealership. There will be an extended Q&A session at the end.
Topics to be covered:
Completing the HERO Act Model Plan
Requirements of the Plan
Implementing the plan at your dealership
Distributing the Plan to employees
Training components of the Plan
What to do if an employee refuses to comply
Differences between HERO Act and Reopening Plan of 2020
